The Documentary Cinematographers Alliance (DCA) is a community of professional documentary cinematographers working together to elevate our craft, improve our career sustainability, and promote visibility and recognition of the collaborative nature of the work we do. DCA advocates for fair wages, inclusive hiring practices, and safe working conditions for all.

To better support the work we love to do, it is crucial for us to reimagine traditional documentary filmmaking practices to honor the stories, experiences and relationships on both sides of the camera. Promoting the presence of diverse individuals behind the camera is an important step towards enhancing our storytelling, and reflecting our world at large. We strive to build an intersectional community that is welcoming and supportive to create a more equitable industry.

Membership is open to all documentary cinematographers whose career goal is primarily cinematography.
